Visual Basic programs gives Error message "Run time Error ' 2147024895 (80070001) Automation Error, incorrect function" while trying read data from excel (by using Excel Object libraries, I quess). BUT if excel is open/runnig already everything works fine. Do anybody have any idea how to fix this feature?

I tried reducing the hardware/video acceleration but that didn't work. One of my box is still running WMP 6.4.xx and that played the file fine. I'm desperate...already spent hours on this problem. Remember I'm not so familiar with computers as most of you seem... The back up centre made me a first total back up on DVD. I want a weekly back up but it fails every time because of error 0x 80070001. Google'd and so on but can't find an answer.

The file plays about half way through, then chokes with the very explicit error message "incorrect function". I've tried WMP version 6.4, as well as 7.1. I've notice a few other people are getting this same error when trying to play adio as well. Any Ideas?
